About Lippe Optics
Our Mission
Lippe Optics’ mission is to develop cutting-edge laser targeting systems for defense applications. Our systems aim to be reliable, precise, eco-friendly, and easy to set up, addressing current customer needs. Our first product is the Mosquito Laser Targeting System, designed to accurately eliminate mosquitoes using lasers that are safe to both humans and the environment.
Our Vision
We envision a future where innovative laser technology provides clean, effective, and environmentally responsible solutions to pest control and defense challenges.
The Team
Lippe Optics was founded by two students from Hochschule Hamm-Lippstadt, using the knowledge and support gained from the university’s professors to develop this innovative idea. Today, we are a small team of designers and engineers working together to further develop the project. We are looking for additional motivated people who would like to contribute their skills and help strengthen the project in the following areas:
- Embedded systems
- PCB Design
- Programming
- Computer vision
- 3D printing
Our current focus combines:
- Advanced engineering and laser technology expertise
- Computer vision and sensor integration knowledge
- Defense technology innovation experience
- Business development and market strategy skills
Our Focus Area
Mosquito Laser Targeting System
Our flagship product uses advanced laser technology with integrated sensors and cameras to detect and eliminate mosquitoes. This technology has applications in:
- Pest Control: Outdoor events, municipalities, and public institutions
- Defense Operations: Scalable systems from 10 to over 1,000 units
- Public Health: Disease vector control in high-risk regions
- Environmental Protection: Chemical-free, zero-impact solution
Why This Matters
Mosquito-borne diseases remain a critical public health challenge. Traditional pest control methods are often ineffective, environmentally harmful, or require constant maintenance. Our laser-based solution offers:
- Precision: Eliminates mosquitoes with laser accuracy
- Safety: Chemical-free and safe for humans and ecosystems
- Reliability: Autonomous operation with minimal maintenance
- Scalability: Flexible deployment from small to large installations
Competitive Advantages
- Innovative Technology: Few competitors use laser technology; those that do have bulky, expensive, or less precise systems
- Eco-Friendly: Chemical-free alternative to traditional pest control
- Portability: Compact design (2.5 cm × 20 cm) with 360° rotation
- Engineering Flexibility: Fast iteration and adaptation to customer needs
- Modular Design: Customizable with upgradeable components and add-ons
Artificial Intelligence & AI-Assisted Engineering
At Lippe Optics, we see Artificial Intelligence as a tool that enhances human expertise rather than replacing it. We integrate AI-assisted tools into our engineering and development workflows to improve productivity, explore new ideas, analyze data, and support technical decision-making.
Our interest in AI also extends to hardware acceleration. We explore technologies such as dedicated AI accelerators and Neural Processing Units (NPUs) to enable efficient local AI processing and real-time applications.
We believe that the most effective approach is to combine human creativity, engineering knowledge, and modern AI technologies.
